Local Community Initiatives

Community Engagement: Neighbor Awareness Initiative

We hold a deep appreciation for the community that surrounds us. We believe that being good neighbors is not just a duty; it's a privilege and a vital part of our mission - to represent Christ and to share the gospel message with everyone.

Neighbor Awareness is a core value that drives us to listen to the needs of our next-door neighbors, and more importantly, to take action in meeting those needs. Whether it's mowing the lawn for an elderly neighbor, preparing a meal for a family in times of challenge, or simply being a listening ear and offering sound advice rooted in the truth found in God's word, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on those who share our neighborhood.

Our approach to being good neighbors is guided by our commitment to community, empathy, and the teachings of God’s word. We understand that sometimes, a small act of kindness can make a significant difference in someone's life. It's about extending a helping hand, offering support, and demonstrating the love and care that embody the spirit of our fellowship.

In a world where busy schedules and distractions can create distance between neighbors, we aim to bridge the gaps, build connections, and foster a sense of togetherness. We believe that being present, attentive, and responsive to the needs of those around us not only strengthens our community but also reflects the values of compassion and service that we hold dear.

Neighbor Awareness at CSBF is not just a program; it's a way of life. It's about being a beacon of hope, a source of assistance, and a friend when it's needed most. We invite you to join us in this mission of building stronger, more caring neighborhoods, one neighbor at a time. Together, we can make a positive impact that ripples through our community, bringing people closer and helping to create a more loving and supportive environment for all.

Feeding the Hungry: CSBF Food Pantry Involvement

At Curtiss Street Bible Fellowship (CSBF), we are dedicated to making a positive impact on our local community, and one of the ways we accomplish this is through our active involvement with the Christians In Action Community Food Pantry in Mazomanie, WI.

Our commitment to serving our community is evident in the hands-on support we provide. Together with other local churches and civic groups, CSBF volunteers take on the responsibility of setting up and taking down the Mazomanie Community Building, which serves as the food pantry site.

Our volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the pantry runs smoothly. During the set-up phase, which takes place between 9:15 AM and 10:00 AM on designated Saturdays, our team arranges tables, meticulously organizes food labels, and ensures that food items are placed in their appropriate areas.

Following the pantry's operation, from 11:30 AM to Noon, our volunteers diligently put away tables and chairs, returning all food and items to storage. This ensures that the space is ready for its next use.

CSBF has dedicated its time to the food pantry on three separate Saturdays: in April, July, and October. Additionally, we have a presence on the food pantry board, demonstrating our commitment to its ongoing success.

Our actions are guided by the teachings of Hebrews 13:16, reminding us to "not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." We are committed to living out these values as we serve our local community and beyond.

Responding to Crisis: Disaster Relief Efforts

We believe that in times of crisis, a united community can bring solace and restoration to those who have been affected. Our church is dedicated to making a meaningful impact when disaster strikes, and we are proud to have donated both time and resources to help those in dire need.

Mazomanie Flood 2018

In 2018, the communities of Mazomanie and Black Earth, Wisconsin, were devastated by a flood that left many homes and businesses in ruins. CSBF responded swiftly, recognizing the urgency of the situation. We mobilized our members and resources to provide immediate relief.

Our efforts began with a simple yet profound act of kindness: offering a free meal to those affected by the flood. In times of uncertainty and loss, a warm meal can be a comforting reminder of the support and care of a community. It was our way of letting our neighbors know that they were not alone in their struggle.

CSBF members also rolled their sleeves and got to work repairing homes and helped people rebuild their lives. We understand that the path to recovery can be long and arduous, but we were committed to walking that path alongside our neighbors. Through sweat and determination, we worked tirelessly to restore homes and renew hope.

Mazomanie Black Earth Wisconsin Flood 2018

Our dedication to disaster relief extends beyond a single flood. We have also been there for individuals and families who have experienced house fires, offering both practical assistance and emotional support during their time of crisis.

At CSBF, we firmly believe that actions speak louder than words, and our actions are guided by our faith and a desire to make a positive impact in our community. We are always ready to lend a helping hand and offer hope to those in need.

If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Florida Missions Trip

In Utah, our teams have been actively engaged in various projects, including serving Pioneer Bible Camp and building a parsonage for a local Bible church in need. These endeavors have provided individuals and families with much-needed stable and secure homes, offering a transformative impact in their lives. Through our partnership with Pioneer Bible Camp, we've constructed cabins and facilities that enhance faith-based experiences, while the parsonage has not only offered a residence for the church's pastor but also become a hub for community outreach. We believe in the power of faith, service, and community to create lasting change, and we invite you to join us in these missions to make a profound difference in the lives of those in need.

If you share our passion for serving those in need on a national scale and wish to participate in our short-term missions trips, we welcome you to join us. Together, we can continue to extend our reach and bring assistance, love, and hope to those who need it across the United States.
