Accessibility at CSBF: Enhancing Inclusion and Care

Curtiss Street Bible Fellowship (CSBF) is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all its members and visitors. Our Care Committee has been actively working to ensure that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can participate fully in our community. Here are the latest updates and initiatives from our Care Committee.

Mission Statement

“Giving care where needed most, to glorify and share God’s hope”

Inspired by Romans 12:13, “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality,” our mission is to provide care and support to all individuals, reflecting God’s love and compassion.

The Care Team is ready to serve you!

Highlights from the Care Committee Presentation

The Importance of Disability Ministry

The Bible calls us to love our neighbors regardless of their societal status or abilities. The disability community is the largest minority group, yet often the most forgotten. At CSBF, we strive to demonstrate our love through actions, not just words.

How You Can Help

Welcoming Churchgoers: Treat individuals as people first, not defined by their disabilities. Avoid making assumptions and offer genuine kindness and understanding.

Inviting Others: If you know someone with a disability, invite them to visit CSBF. Share our accessibility features, the care team’s support, and offer to accompany them. Encourage them to contact our care team for any special accommodations they may need.

Achievements and Future Goals

Care Team Accomplishments:

  • Hosting respite events and providing educational resources.

  • Bringing care to homebound and nursing home-bound congregants.

  • Offering tangible care, such as lawn care and cleaning, for those unable to do so themselves.

Next Goal:

  • Installing a Universal Changing Table to further enhance our facilities.

Get Involved

No special training is required to help. By being kind, asking questions, and treating everyone with respect and dignity, you can help create a more inclusive and welcoming church environment. Your actions can make a significant difference in someone’s life and share the gospel's message of love and hope.
